Bridging Business and Cybersecurity:
Mario Sanmiguel’s Journey

Since joining Celito in 2022 as a Cybersecurity Engineer, Mario Sanmiguel has been instrumental in shaping the company’s security practices. He began by drafting customer policies and procedures, then advanced to implementing security systems, leading project teams, and contributing to new product security. Today, he focuses on driving efficiency across systems while ensuring Celito’s internal security aligns with industry best standards. 

Before Celito, Mario taught and mentored students as a university professor in cybersecurity. His earlier professional path included leading logistics operations in the construction industry and developing client solutions in technology sales. Along the way, he built a strong academic foundation with a Master’s in Cybersecurity and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. His career has taken him across Ecuador, Spain, and the United States, experiences that sharpened his adaptability and ability to bridge the gap between business priorities and technical solutions. 

Outside of work, Mario is an avid athlete, competing in triathlons and enjoying soccer and tennis. He has a passion for public speaking on cybersecurity and hopes to grow into a cybersecurity evangelist. When time allows, he seeks out adventure—whether ocean swimming, cycling, or exploring new places.
